A word about legal advice...
Many of the people sending stories to MyImmigrationStory.com have asked for help and legal advice in dealing with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. However, I am not a legal expert. Nor do I feel comfortable referring legal counsel, although I have had lawyers contact me to post their services on this site.
MyImmigrationStory.com was created in May of 2006 to provide a forum for U.S. immigrants from all over the world to share their immigration stories. I am proud to say that journalists and educators are already using these stories to help shape public opinion and hopefully create a change for the better.
If you have a legal question or would like to engage in a chat room with other families divided by the USCIS, please visit Immigrate2US.net. Their site is setup precisely for this purpose.
To all those who have contributed stories, let me express my sympathy and thanks. Telling the world will make a difference.
