I'm a U.S. citizen and my husband is a Mexican Citizen. He's been here for almost 10 years we have one son together who is 1 year old. My husband came here illegally because of the situation over there, it's hard to make a living. His dad past away when he was 8 years old and he's the oldest of 4 brothers so he had no choice but to do something, so he came here. He's hard working and a good person. We've talked with many immigration lawyers and all say the same thing: to wait because it's too risky when they interview them in Ciudad Juarez. They can approve a waiver (but there's not guarantee) but if they don't he has to stay in Mexico for 10 years! My son and I love him and I can't imagine being away from him for that long. All we can do is pray to God that the laws will change and bring 245-I back and to stop those deportations!

All you Hispanics listening, we must write to Congress. We need to stay involved in presidential elections and pressure our Congressman. Write, fax, contact their offices. We need to pressure them. This abuse has to stop. Write to Congress. The information is available on the Internet.

I am so sorry to hear about your situation! I am going through the same situation with my Honduran husband. I just wanted to tell you that you CAN get your husband back here. Cuidad Juarez has an 80% waiver approval rate, which is the highest approval rate of any US Embassy in the world. It won't be easy, but you can do this. It floors me that our system is so broken, and that some people have to be away from their families for 10 years. The immigration journey is one of the most difficult and unfair journeys your family will ever face, but it will be worth it in the end. Don't listen to lawyers... most of them have no idea what they are talking about. Come to our immigration support website; immigrate2us.net. In this forum, we hold each other up in this difficult time, and you can get lots of priceless advice. Most of our members get through this process with no assistance from an attorney. I would encourage you to read stories from other people who have filed through Mexico.
