This
isn't always the case; I married my husband, who entered legally
from Albania. We took all the right steps and he was made to leave
voluntarily...now that he is over there, they FIND reasons to make
it so they can't come back. Just be careful, and I hope things work
out for you.
Love doesn't cut it when it comes to U.S. immigration. I am a U.S.
citizen, and have now lived without my husband for one year, him
waiting for a visa over there. Also, my husband was made to leave
because an immigration attorney screwed us up royally...so be careful
in the lawyer search as well...

I
feel your pain. I am angry that my husband is being held in jail
during our adjustment of status petition because he worked when
he did not have proper work authorization. They will not even let
him have bail. This is ludicrous. He is being treated like a murderer.
I hope all is well with you, but it makes me angry to see the insensitivity
of some people.

What
country are you and your family from? There are specific laws that
say you cannot be deported under certain circumstances. For example,
if you are a legal citizen, your spouse is forbidden from being
deported. Also, if you gave birth to children in the US and he is
the father (which I assume is correct), then it also is illegal
for them to deport him. There are so many ways to get around the
law, you just have to be able to prove your point and have someone
as passionate as you are about this issue. But don’t give
up. When 2008 rolls around, hopefully we will see some changes.
If I recollect what I learned in my history courses in high school,
America was constructed and conquered by immigrants.
