There have always been restrictions on immigration, so I'm afraid that point isn't really valid. I am in agreement that people simply can't be given legal status. There is a process we must all go through, but I don't think Enya's arguing that people shouldn't go through that process at all. I'd suggest that we just need to make the process less complicated for those who contribute to our nation's culture and economy (which describes many illegals). We also must be cautious about admitting those who might do us harm.
One note, Enya. I can imagine how incredibly frustrating this whole process has been for you and it's very easy to target certain people who seem to stand in the way. However, antagonizing them and using labels like "blueblood" really isn't going to convince them you're right. When arguing against someone on a heated political issue such as this, it's very important to try and understand why they feel the way they do and use that information to build your case. This is what I do when trying to get difficult people to understand why this is such a tough issue for visitors to our country. So far, it seems to be working.

We don't mind if you are here LEGALLY but we can't just GIVE you your green card....you should earn it rightfully....and I see your point about how we were all products of illegals....but that was more than likely when there weren't laws against it...if you want to be here go about it properly and you shouldnt hear complaints.

The point made above is not valid. We did not respect the laws of native americans at all. We pretend, as you do here, that they did not exist. We then imposed our laws on them.
